Igonin: Glushenkov's difficult period must be endured with patience

Former “Zenit” player Aleksey Igonin commented on the decline in Maxim Glushenkov's game. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The midfielder of the St. Petersburg club has faced issues in his relationship with coach Sergey Semak due to playing less time on the field recently. According to Igonin, it is natural for a player to feel emotionally heavy in such a situation.

He believes that Glushenkov is not in poor physical condition, but such difficult periods sometimes occur specifically for attacking players. The important thing is to endure such situations with patience.

In his remarks, Igonin cited Aleksandr Kerjakov as an example. He stated that another former player of “Zenit” also experienced unsuccessful periods during his career, but over time, these issues were resolved.

In the new season, Glushenkov has played in four matches for his team. The midfielder has yet to score a goal or provide an assist.

According to Igonin, it is important for a player to go through such times and work on himself. Thus, he emphasized that this situation is temporary and positive results will be noted soon.
