Valeriy Gladilin, a former player and coach of Moscow's "Spartak" team, shared his thoughts on the participation of Zenit club midfielder Maksim Glushenkov in the main lineup. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He stated that Glushenkov does not have a specific position and can be utilized in various roles. In particular, he emphasized that, as was the case last season, Glushenkov could be deployed in midfield alongside Vendel.
Although Glushenkov started the last season well, his performance declined later on. Following this, reports emerged in the media about his disagreement with head coach Sergey Semak.
After the second round of the current season, Glushenkov's father expressed dissatisfaction that his son was being played less, stating that if this situation continues, he might leave the team. Thus, Glushenkov's future in the Zenit lineup remains uncertain for now.
Experts are highlighting that the player's potential is high, but he needs to work on himself and earn the trust of the coaches to play regularly in the main lineup. The club's management and coaching staff are expected to make a clear decision regarding the player's future soon.
