Cherchesov wants to prove himself to the Moscow clubs

Famous sports commentator Dmitriy Guberniev commented on the result of the first match after Stanislav Cherchesov returned as the coach of the "Akhmat" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

On Saturday evening, the "Akhmat" team from Grozny defeated "Zenit" 1:0 at home. This match took place within the framework of the fourth round of the Russian Premier League.

According to Guberniev, it is too early to conclude that Cherchesov will soon return as head coach to one of the major clubs. This is because the "Zenit" team is not in ideal condition at the moment.

At the same time, Guberniev stated that Cherchesov is trying to prove himself to the leaders of prestigious Moscow clubs. According to Guberniev, Cherchesov wants to showcase his potential to the leaders of famous Moscow clubs that did not invite him before by performing well at "Akhmat".

"Cherchesov's activity at 'Akhmat' is a good event. I am following this process with interest.

Now the club will become a strong competitor," says Guberniev. For reference, before Stanislav Cherchesov's return, the "Akhmat" team had lost in four consecutive matches in the 2025/2026 season, namely three league matches and one Russian Cup match.

In the next round, "Akhmat" will host the "Krylya Sovetov" team at home.
