Spartak Moscow midfielder Daniil Zorin apologized for smiling after the defeat against Lokomotiv in the derby. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In this match of the fourth round of the Russian championship, Lokomotiv won 4:2. After the game, Zorin was caught on camera smiling while sitting on the bench.
According to the player, this behavior was inappropriate. He emphasized in his comments that he couldn't control his emotions, which surfaced as a defensive reaction during a difficult time for the team.
The coaching staff explained to Zorin that such actions were not right. Zorin himself admitted that what he did was wrong.
He stated that the emotions he displayed had nothing to do with the game. Currently, Spartak is in 11th place, having won only once in four matches in the championship.
On August 16, Spartak will host Zenit at home. In the Russian Cup, Spartak won against Rostov in the first round, but lost to Dynamo Makhachkala in the second round of the group stage.
