Luis Enrique opposed Arteta's opinion: "We deserve to be in the final and we have proven it!"
The intense and uncompromising match between "Paris Saint-Germain" and "Arsenal" concluded with the overall victory of the Parisians in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Following the results of the two matches that led PSG to the final, head coach Luis Enrique responded to some of the opinions expressed by the opposing team's coach, Mikel Arteta.
It was reported that after the match, Arteta commented on Arsenal's performance over the two encounters, stating that they had played significantly better than the Parisians and that the result was not fair. Luis Enrique, however, stated that he completely disagrees with this opinion and believes that his team rightfully reached the final.
"Mikel Arteta is a very close friend of mine, and I hold him in great respect. However, this time I cannot fully agree with his opinions. I believe that Arsenal played exactly as they planned and remained true to their style. However, in both matches, we managed to score more goals, and in football, that is what determines the result. Therefore, we rightfully advanced to the final and proved it on the field," Luis Enrique responded to the opposing team's coach.
However, Luis Enrique did not forget to specifically praise Arsenal. According to him, the "Gunners" showed very strong and high-level performances in these matches, causing considerable difficulties for PSG players:
"Arsenal's performance was truly astonishingly high. They fought against us and applied tremendous pressure on the field. I must admit that this season, the matches against Arsenal were the toughest for us. They demonstrated once again that they are a very strong and well-organized team. Nevertheless, in both matches, we showed better results and won. Therefore, we rightfully deserve to participate in the final," concluded the PSG head coach.
