Discussions regarding Rustam Ashurmatov's transfer are ongoing

In the world of football, important events are taking place regarding the transfer of Uzbek defender Rustam Ashurmatov, as reported by UPL.uz. The Tehran club "Esteghlal" has shown serious interest in him. The legendary player Clarence Seedorf is working as the sports director at the club.

"Esteghlal" has made an official offer to "Rubin," but the Kazan club has asked for more than 700 thousand dollars. This amount is high for the Iranians, and negotiations have currently stalled.

Seedorf plans to strengthen the team. Ashurmatov is considered one of the main candidates to reinforce the defense line. At the same time, another Uzbek player in the team — Jaloliddin Masharipov — may also leave the club.

"Rubin" does not want to let Ashurmatov go for now, even though he often remains on the bench. His contract expires in 2025. Another contender club is Azerbaijan's "Neftchi," which is also planning to send an offer soon.

"Neftchi" tried to acquire the player in the winter of 2025, but coach Rashid Rahimov canceled the transfer due to another defender's injury.

Currently, there are speculations about an agreement between the two clubs — "Rubin" and "Neftchi." If "Esteghlal" acquires the player, it may upset the Baku club.
