Maksim Mitrofanov, the Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFS), commented on the situation at the "Torpedo" club. This was reported by www.euro-football.ru.
It has been revealed that one of "Torpedo"'s partners, Leonid Sobolev, and the club's general director, Valeriy Skorodumov, have been placed under investigation for two months. They are accused of attempting to illegally influence the outcome of a match, specifically for trying to bribe the referee.
According to Mitrofanov, the RFS is continuing to gather information on this case. He emphasized the need to determine the list of teams participating in the next Russian championship as soon as possible.
"It is important for us that the stability of the RPL participants' rosters should be clear at least seven days before the start of the season. All interested parties – us, the league, and the clubs – share the same concern in this matter," said Maksim Mitrofanov in an interview with "Match TV." Additionally, it is known that "Torpedo" secured second place in the Melbet First League this spring, returning to the Russian Premier League.
The current situation surrounding this club is gaining serious attention in the football community. The RFS is striving to resolve this issue quickly and ensure the championship starts on time.
