Former Netherlands footballer Mark Van Bommel, while commenting on modern football, did not rate Clarence Seedorf highly as a player who won the Champions League with three different clubs. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his opinion, there are now more talented and higher-level midfielders, and Seedorf may not be among the best twenty midfielders. According to Van Bommel, due to the increased demands of modern football, players who achieved great success in that era are rated slightly lower compared to the current generation.
It is worth noting that Van Bommel and Seedorf played together in the "Milan" team and won the Serie A championship in 2011. This achievement was accomplished under the management of Massimiliano Allegri.
Thus, in the opinion of the former player, the level of footballers changes over time, and currently, the best midfielders are found among other candidates.
