Former Soviet Union national team and Moscow "Spartak" club player Yevgeniy Lovchev shared his memories of match-fixing. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He noted that in one of the recent rounds, the desired result occurred in the match between "Krasnodar" and Tomsk, expressing his fatigue from such fixed matches. The publication "Championat" quoted Lovchev's words.
Later, "Krasnodar" club owner Sergey Galitskiy called Lovchev and asked if he had watched that game. Lovchev replied that he had not seen the "Krasnodar" game but had mixed everything up considering the fixed situations in the Tomsk game.
After carefully reviewing the game recording, he admitted his mistake and apologized. Currently, the Russian Football Union's Disciplinary Committee has decided to remove Moscow "Torpedo" club from the elite of the country's football, and the club's management was fined five million rubles for attempting to influence the match results.
A new team is expected to take the place of this club in the near future.
