Maksim Mitrofanov, the Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFS), commented on the inclusion of the "Orenburg" team in the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The "Gorozhan" team was returned to the elite division by the decision of the RFS executive committee. This decision was made after the "Torpedo" team was disqualified from the competition for attempting to manipulate match results in the spring.
According to Mitrofanov, the "Orenburg" team was included instead of "Torpedo" because they participated in the Premier League last season. The "Ural" team participated in additional matches but did not achieve success in the competition.
In the first round of the Russian championship, the "Orenburg" team will play against CSKA. This match will take place on July 21, Monday.
It is worth noting that in the spring season, "Torpedo" was relegated from the Premier League, finishing in 15th place in the competition table. Thus, the "Orenburg" team will participate in the main league again in the new season.
