Russian football coach Aleksandr Tarkhanov supported the idea of tightening the limit on the number of foreign players in the Russian championship. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his opinion, the limit set for five foreign players is the most optimal. In this case, clubs strive to search for quality foreign players.
It is not necessary to completely abandon foreign players, but only good footballers are needed, the expert says. Tarkhanov cited the examples of new "Spartak" players Levi Garcia and Pablo Solari.
Although a large amount of money was spent on them, they ultimately remained on the bench. The coach emphasized that if you know how to play football, there is no need to adapt.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Sports proposed to reduce the number of foreign players in the starting lineup from eight to five, and in the roster from fourteen to ten. The Russian Football Union supports gradually tightening this limit.
This decision is aimed at improving the quality of football in the country.
