The former head coach of the Russian national team, Stanislav Cherchesov, commented on the information regarding the tightening of restrictions on foreign players in the Premier League during a conversation with media representatives. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the restrictions have already been adopted, and if there are any changes, they will not occur today. Cherchesov emphasized that the important thing is not to reduce the number of legionnaires, but to select quality players and nurture our own mature talents.
This will improve the competitive environment. According to the current restrictions, Premier League clubs cannot register more than 13 foreign players in their applications for the season, and there cannot be more than eight legionnaires on the field at the same time.
The new season of the Russian championship will start on July 18.
