Vladimir Ponomaryov, a former player of the Soviet Union national team and CSKA club in Tashkent, expressed a negative attitude towards goalkeeper Nikita Xaykin's intention to obtain Norwegian citizenship. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, Xaykin can play and live in Norway; it is his own matter. Many do not want to live in Russia, but then ask to return.
If Xaykin gets sick, he may not find help there. The 30-year-old player is currently active in the "Bodø/Glimt" club.
In the last season, he played a total of 35 matches in all tournaments and conceded 42 goals. He also kept his goal safe in 12 matches.
His market value is approximately 2 million euros. Previously, Xaykin explained the reasons for not being called up to the Russian national team, emphasizing that such a call has no meaning under the current circumstances.
