
The Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, met with representatives of the US-based Amazon Kuiper company to discuss cooperation on developing digital infrastructure and improving high-speed internet services. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry and Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services LLC. According to the memorandum, directions were set for launching high-speed internet through the Project Kuiper satellite network and developing telecommunications networks within the country.
The aim of this project is to expand internet access for remote areas, schools, hospitals, and business entities. Amazon Kuiper is a division of Amazon that provides satellite internet services.
It aims to deliver high-speed, low-latency communication services worldwide through satellites positioned in low Earth orbit. This technology serves to transmit large volumes of data quickly and efficiently, enhancing the quality of videoconferencing, remote education, telemedicine, and other digital services.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties will continue cooperation on implementing technical solutions, ensuring network stability, and delivering services on a wide scale. This project will enable the improvement of digital service quality in the country and increase efficiency across various sectors of the economy.
This will contribute to further development of Uzbekistan's digital infrastructure.
