Anthropic company acquired Stainless startup for $300 million

Anthropic, one of the world's largest companies active in the field of artificial intelligence technologies, officially announced on Monday that it has acquired the startup Stainless. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The aforementioned startup was founded by Alex Rattray, a former engineer at Stripe, and its software solutions have so far been effectively used by technology giants such as OpenAI, Google, and Cloudflare. This was reported by the influential publication TechCrunch.
Although the exact financial terms of the agreement between the parties have not been disclosed, industry specialists estimate that Anthropic may have spent over $300 million on this acquisition. It is worth noting that the Stainless project had previously received support and funding from renowned venture firms such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.
The Stainless company is primarily known for creating tools that help developers work with software interfaces and for services that automatically update them. Such technologies are of great importance in ensuring the organic connection of artificial intelligence systems with external applications and various services.
This, in turn, further expands the capabilities of AI agents. According to representatives of Anthropic, Stainless services will now be directed exclusively toward meeting the company's internal needs and will be closed off to other external companies.
Nevertheless, the software packages developed and delivered to customers so far remain at the users' disposal, and no technical restrictions are imposed on their use. In his statement, Stainless founder Alex Rattray expressed his gratitude for joining the Anthropic team and for the opportunity to contribute to the further improvement of the Claude platform.
This strategic acquisition is expected to enable Anthropic to fundamentally strengthen its technical infrastructure and achieve a significant advantage in the highly competitive environment. This step will elevate the quality of the company's future software products to a new level.
