Google introduced a single universal shopping cart system for all purchases.

Google introduced the Universal Cart system at its latest conference, allowing users to collect and manage all online purchases in one place. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This development signals a shift in the role of AI assistants—from passive information providers to active participants in the shopping process.
Users can now add products they like—whether found via Google Search, the Gemini assistant, YouTube videos, or Gmail—to a single cart. The new system not only gathers items but also continuously monitors price changes and alerts users instantly when discounts are announced or selected items are running low in stock.
AI will soon assist shoppers in making optimal choices. For example, when selecting computer components, the system will warn about incompatible parts and suggest suitable alternatives, helping prevent errors during purchase.
Google also unveiled a new payment method for payments can grant AI agents the authority to make purchases on their behalf.
mechanism: users can authorize AI agents to make purchases on their behalf. To ensure security, shoppers set spending limits in advance and specify trusted brands. The AI then completes transactions independently within these predefined boundaries.
With the unified shopping flow, users can complete orders either directly through Google’s system or be redirected to the seller’s official website. Currently, the service is being tested in the United States.
According to the roadmap, Gemini will gain this feature in the summer months, followed by rollout on YouTube and Gmail platforms. In the future, residents of countries such as Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom are expected to gain access as well.
These innovations are anticipated to mark the beginning of a new era in electronic commerce.
