LG and Alienware monitors install unauthorized applications on computers

Monitor manufacturers LG and Alienware, known for their major brands, have sparked a new technological trend, according to Zamin.uz.
It has been reported that certain monitor models from these companies automatically install special applications into the Windows operating system without user consent. This not only leads to excessive consumption of computer system resources but can also cause unexpected advertisement messages to appear.
International tech publications have provided detailed information on this issue, with social media users being the first to report it.
Specifically, some users noticed advertisement notifications from antivirus programs they had never installed on their computers. Upon deep system inspection, it was discovered that this was caused by a special installer that appeared after connecting a new monitor.
According to reports, certain LG UltraGear monitors, upon connection, automatically download additional applications via the Windows official store and update services. The notable aspect is that this process occurs without asking the user for any confirmation.
The system’s internal monitoring tools logged this unauthorized installation process. During discussions, it became known that such practice is not exclusive to the LG brand.
Owners of Dell and Alienware monitors also reported experiencing similar situations. Experts compare this to the automatic installation of auxiliary software found on some motherboards.
However, in the case of monitors, the appearance of third-party advertising software has provoked strong user objections. Removing this unwanted software also presents its own difficulties.
It may not be possible to uninstall the special application through standard means. Users currently suggest disabling it via startup settings or blocking device information downloads through the Group Policy section as a workaround.
To fully resolve the issue, users are advised to access the administrator options in computer settings and restrict the device installation section. Some users even suggest completely blocking the system store.
So far, manufacturers have not issued any official comments regarding this situation. For Uzbek users, this news is particularly significant, as monitors from these brands are widely popular in the local market.
If you are also experiencing unexpected advertisements, it is recommended to check the system for the presence of foreign applications.
