The startup funded by Jeff Bezos has unveiled a new electric vehicle

The Slate Auto startup, funded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, is entering the electric vehicle market with a unique approach, according to Zamin.uz.
The new company is focusing on simplicity and personalization based on customer preferences in presenting its first products. To this end, Slate Auto has partnered with Crayola, a globally renowned manufacturer of art supplies.
This collaboration has been reported by influential publications. The company’s core idea is that customers will purchase a basic, unpainted electric vehicle in a neutral color for $24,950.
The vehicle can travel approximately 330 kilometers on a single charge. It lacks complex technological features and expensive trim.
Instead, users can modify the vehicle’s exterior appearance using special vinyl wraps to suit their tastes. As part of the partnership with Crayola, Slate Auto has introduced five exclusive wrap colors.
These include the brand’s signature shades of blue, green, red, deep pink, and yellow. According to reports, the cost of these special wraps is around $1,550.
Customers who purchase this package will receive not only the exterior modification but also additional accessories. Specifically, they will get a key fob matching the car’s color and a special artistic element to be installed on the dashboard.
These efforts are aimed at presenting the vehicle not just as a means of transport, but as a sample of personal creativity. Representatives of Crayola noted that this project marks the brand’s first collaboration with the automotive industry in its history.
Slate Auto’s representatives have stated that they are ready to work on new designs with other creative individuals and companies in the future. Currently, the company is collaborating with well-known illustrators on new projects.
Slate Auto is still relatively young in the automotive industry. The company announced its operations only recently and has not yet begun delivering its first products to customers.
Nevertheless, its relatively low price and high degree of personalization have attracted the attention of many investors and consumers. The company’s pricing policy is also noteworthy.
The base two-seat pickup truck is priced at $24,950, while the five-seat SUV version is set at 950. Separate fees apply for wraps in various colors and additional equipment.
For the Uzbekistani market, the arrival of such an affordable and efficient electric vehicle could play an important role in reducing urban freight and personal transportation costs in the future. For now, the startup is taking its first steps and aims to establish itself in the global market.
