On July 21-22, 2025, negotiations on the development of air traffic took place in Moscow between government representatives of Uzbekistan and Russia in the aviation sector. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Delegations from the Transport Ministries of both countries and representatives of Uzbekistan's embassy in Russia participated in this event. During the negotiations, issues such as increasing the number of existing air routes, expanding flight directions, and granting relevant rights to airlines were discussed.
As a result of the negotiations, a number of agreements were reached. Accordingly, it was determined that airlines from both countries would operate flights in the following directions weekly: 50 flights each way on the Tashkent–Moscow route, 23 flights on the Samarkand–Moscow route, and 14 flights from the cities of Bukhara, Urgench, Fergana, and Namangan to Moscow.
Additionally, there will be 14 flights weekly from Tashkent to St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, and Sochi, and 10 flights on the Termez–Moscow route. Furthermore, Russian airlines were granted the right to operate a total of 560 air routes from 80 international airports to all international airports in Uzbekistan, while Uzbek airlines were granted the right to operate a total of 203 air routes from Uzbekistan airports to 29 major international airports in Russia.
Restrictions on triangular flights for airlines were lifted, allowing each company the right to choose five cities. Within the framework of these agreements, airlines from both countries will have the opportunity to operate over 1000 flights weekly.
Currently, more than 310 regular air routes are being operated weekly. These agreements serve to further strengthen aviation relations between the two countries.
