Benfica is negotiating with Palmeiras for the transfer of midfielder Richard Rios. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Reliable sources indicate that the Lisbon club has offered 30 million euros for the Colombian player. A contract is being proposed to the 25-year-old player that will last until the end of the 2029/30 season, with an annual salary of 3 million euros.
If this deal goes through, Rios will become the third most expensive player in Benfica's history. He will follow Enzo Fernandez (44.2 million euros, River Plate) and Darwin Nunez (34 million euros, Almeria).
Initially, the main contender for the Palmeiras star was the Italian club Roma. They nearly reached an agreement with the player, but were unable to convince the Brazilian club.
Currently, negotiations between Benfica and Palmeiras are ongoing. A final agreement between the player and the clubs is expected to be reached.
