The 2025/26 academic year starts on September 3
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations has approved the start dates for the 2025/26 academic year in higher education institutions and academic lyceums. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This decision facilitates preparation for the new academic year, scheduling classes, and planning student admissions in advance. According to the information, classes for all levels of academic lyceum students and first-year students of higher education institutions will begin on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

For second-year and higher-level students, the academic process is scheduled to start on Monday, September 8. Sufficient time has been allocated for students to return after the holiday, as well as to resolve accommodation and logistics issues.

Additionally, the academic process will be conducted in a phased manner. For newly admitted first-year students, a “Week of Introduction to the Credit Education System” and “Events Dedicated to Student Life” will be organized.

These weekly events will help new students adapt to the higher education environment and become familiar with the faculty and dean’s office systems. During the events, students will be introduced to higher education activities, the essence of the credit-module system, and will purposefully select elective courses.

Moreover, efforts will be made to promote independent learning skills, principles of academic integrity, and issues related to professional and personal development among students. This serves to ensure transparency regarding the educational process, assessment criteria, and the academic calendar.

From the initial stage, the most important task for a student is to clearly define their field of study. Correct selection of elective courses, effective use of distance learning platforms, and utilization of library and electronic resources will influence success in subsequent semesters.

Adherence to academic integrity rules expands opportunities for scholarships, grants, and participation in international programs. Earlier, it was reported that in universities not bearing their own financing, the amount of tuition fees under contracts is unlikely to increase.

This approach is considered an important factor in ensuring financial stability for parents and students. However, specific figures and official statements will be announced separately for each educational institution.

In conclusion, the approved dates set the start time for the academic year. Now, faculties and departments will finalize study plans and complete the allocation of classrooms and resources.

Students will form their personal schedules for lectures, practical sessions, elective courses, and internships. Thus, preparation for the academic year will proceed clearly and systematically.
