According to Article 187 of the Labor Code, working hours on the days before holidays must be reduced by at least one hour for all employees. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These rules have been introduced to protect the labor rights of workers and employees regardless of the work schedule. Therefore, October 1, Wednesday, is celebrated nationwide as Teachers and Mentors Day and is considered an official non-working day.
Accordingly, on the day before the holiday — September 30, all shifts and daily working hours must be reduced by at least one hour. However, in organizations with continuous production or service processes, these rules may not be fully applied.
In such cases, the employee’s overtime is compensated with additional rest hours or, with the employee’s consent, extra pay according to the rates established for overtime work. Also, October 2, Thursday, is considered a regular working day for everyone.
This procedure is established within the framework of labor legislation and serves to protect employees' rights (source: zamin.uz).
