
At the UNESCO General Conference held in Samarkand, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, put forward a number of important initiatives aimed at developing education, science, culture, and cultural heritage. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He emphasized the importance of creating equal educational opportunities for every child, including those with special needs. Additionally, the President proposed establishing a special UNESCO platform for inclusive education and holding a World Summit on Vocational Education to facilitate experience exchange among countries.
The head of state also introduced the initiative to integrate artificial intelligence into the education system and to create the "Artificial Intelligence – School" project. It was also announced that an international expert forum is planned to be organized in museums to discuss the ethics of artificial intelligence.
To preserve intangible cultural heritage such as traditional dances, music, and crafts, the President proposed declaring November 19 as the International Day of Documentary Heritage and establishing the International Digital Heritage Institute. An International Congress on Crafts and Folk Art is scheduled to be held in Bukhara.
Furthermore, to promote women's leadership, the establishment of UNESCO’s Women Leadership Academy and the holding of a Global Women’s Forum in the fields of education, science, and culture were proposed. President Mirziyoyev advanced the "UNESCO Ecological Capital" initiative, supporting "green" programs and proposing to hold an international symposium on preserving cultural heritage under climate change conditions.
Initiatives were also put forward to protect young people from misinformation and manipulation by organizing an International Festival of Children's Cultural Content and developing a Comprehensive Strategy to promote Media Literacy (source: zamin.uz).
