From January 1, 2026, a number of important reforms will be implemented in Uzbekistan in the fields of social life, the tax system, and digitalization. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These changes are aimed at improving the well-being of the population, developing business, and simplifying government services. From now on, benefits for pregnancy, childbirth, and temporary disability will be paid through the social insurance system.
This will make the process of receiving these benefits transparent and reliable. New opportunities are also being created for small businesses: entrepreneurs with an annual turnover of up to 1 billion soums will have a single tax rate of 1 percent.
This serves to encourage official activity. Changes are also expected in the jewelry sector.
Now jewelers will become VAT payers, but 80 percent of the paid tax will be refunded by the state. At the same time, the VAT accounting system will be simplified.
The reporting process will also become easier: a total of 105 reports will be submitted electronically, and 17 outdated reports will be canceled. Tax and electricity benefits will be provided to the agriculture and livestock sectors.
Delaying VAT payment for live livestock imports by up to 180 days will ease the financial burden on farmers. In urban planning, monitoring systems will be installed at historical sites to enhance seismic safety.
An earthquake early warning system using artificial intelligence will be launched in Tashkent city. Social assistance will be managed through the “Digital Mahalla” platform.
This will make identifying needy people and providing assistance to them more effective. The temporary registration process for foreign citizens will be carried out through the Unified Interactive State Services Portal.
Overall, these reforms, which will come into force in 2026, aim to ease the lives of the population, develop business, and modernize public administration. Source: zamin.uz.
