Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Hungarian businessmen
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official visit to Budapest began on May 20 with a meeting with leaders of major companies and banks in Hungary.

Top managers and founders of many companies, including “OTP Bank”, “BDPST Group”, “4iG”, “Indotek”, “MVM”, “Duna Group”, “MOL Group”, “H2O Consortium”, “Inpark”, “Wizz Air” and others participated.

The head of state emphasized that the official visit starting with a meeting with Hungarian businessmen has a symbolic meaning.

It was noted with satisfaction that Hungary's direct investments in Uzbekistan's economy are rapidly increasing. For example, “OTP Bank” acquired one of Uzbekistan's major banks and secured a stable position in our country's financial market.

The company's plans to establish a joint company for the development of auto lending, implement a business financing program, and build a large poultry cluster were supported.

A special industrial zone for European companies is being established in the Tashkent region to expand industrial cooperation and promote the transfer of advanced technologies. The management of this area will be entrusted to Hungary's “Inpark” operator.

The president outlined several priority areas to expand economic partnership. Supporting the joint financing of projects and exporting finished products to promising markets of third countries are among them.

The importance of strengthening mutual connectivity in terms of transport, particularly increasing freight transport and developing direct air connections between the two countries, was emphasized.

The head of state highly appreciated the interest of Hungarian companies in implementing joint projects. In turn, business representatives expressed their proposals and plans for expanding cooperation.

During the meeting, agreements were reached on implementing new projects in areas such as modernizing transport and road infrastructure, establishing logistics centers and utility networks, and producing construction materials, finished textiles, chemicals, and pharmaceutical products.

At the end of his speech, the head of state proposed to hold such meetings regularly.

- We will create all conditions to develop strong ties between the business circles of our countries, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the end of the event, a ceremony was held for the exchange of agreements on the implementation of priority investment projects in the presence of the head of state.
