In Uzbekistan, during the week from May 23 to May 30, watermelon prices have decreased by almost 3 times, Kursiv.media reported.

According to the East Fruit portal, the average price of watermelon in the wholesale market has dropped from 7000 soums to 2500 soums. This is the fastest and sharpest decline in the last five years.

Experts attribute this to the early harvest. This year, a large quantity of early watermelons was put on sale a week earlier compared to last year.

According to East Fruit, the low prices in the domestic market will lead to an increase in export volumes.

It should be noted that last year Uzbekistan exported 98,500 tons of watermelon.
