Old Mercedes buses in Tashkent will be converted into electric buses

This idea was proposed by Spanish partners. Uzbekistan and Spain will cooperate in the field of green transport and automotive engineering, as reported by "Dunyo".

According to the information, the Uzbek ambassador Farrukh Tursunov and the CEO of the Spanish company UNVI, Eloy Peres, discussed this issue.

The parties paid special attention to the project of converting used Mercedes Conecto buses into electric buses. Additionally, the project plans to train specialists and introduce advanced technologies to Uzbekistan.

The company leader expressed interest in collaborating on the production of city, intercity, and tourist buses as well as minibuses in Uzbekistan. At the end of the meeting, he proposed to develop a cooperation project based on the SamAvto plant.

Previously, it was reported that the number of female drivers in Tashkent buses would be increased. In 2025, the Toshshahartansxizmat company plans to train 500 new female drivers.
