Astrolog arrested in Turkey apologized to Erdogan
An astrologer named Hilol Sarach, who was arrested in Turkey for insulting the president, apologized to the state leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He left a relevant post on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

The astrologer expressed his respect for politicians while apologizing to Erdogan and Bahceli. He asked for their help to meet with his children. The incident involving Sarach occurred on February 6, when he suggested that the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party, Devlet Bahceli, consult doctors due to serious lung problems.

“To be honest, he won’t live until the elections. The elections will take place even earlier than scheduled. By the way, I’m not brave enough to write exactly who I’m talking about, but I think you are smart enough to understand this,” he said.

Two days later, he was arrested on charges of insulting President Erdogan and Bahceli.

Early presidential elections are expected to take place in Turkey in November 2027

The Justice and Development Party will again promote Erdogan's candidacy in the elections. The Turkish president was re-elected as the leader of the ruling party on February 23. In his speech at the party congress, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him.

On March 8, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu officially entered the race for the presidency. The candidate from the Republican People's Party began his presidential campaign with a symbolic visit to Izmir. The Istanbul mayor also mentioned that officials were putting pressure on him. In his speech, he referred to the criminal cases against him, including:

- the case of insult;
- threatening the prosecutor;
- the forgery of a diploma case.

He also stated that recently officials confiscated the property of more than 10 people around him.

- “Since 2014, my only 'crime' has been being Ekrem Imamoglu, who cannot be defeated in elections. You have experienced this four times, and ahead of you is your fifth and final defeat. No matter how hard you try, election day is inevitable,” he addressed President Erdogan.
