Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responded harshly to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statements regarding the country. He criticized Rubio's interference in the territorial dispute between Venezuela and Guyana, calling him an "idiot."
Conflict between Venezuela and the US
According to Maduro, Caracas does not intend to pay attention to Rubio's threats, as Venezuela is the "homeland of those who fought for freedom" and the birthplace of Simon Bolivar.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had previously warned Venezuela against initiating military actions against Guyana, emphasizing that such a step would be a "very big mistake."
In response to these remarks, Maduro sharply criticized US policy, noting that Venezuela is on the path of democracy.
Opposition and US financial support
Additionally, Maduro exposed the US's financing of the opposition in Venezuela. According to him, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has allocated billions of dollars to the leaders of the Venezuelan opposition in exile.
