Kapello: Italy is falling behind due to the slowness of its football

The elimination of "Inter" from the Champions League after losing to Norway's "Bodø/Glimt" club sparked significant discussions in Italian football. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Renowned expert and former head coach Fabio Capello, commenting on this situation, criticized the problems in Italian football. According to Capello, the main reason is related to the slow pace of play in Serie A.
He explained "Inter"'s defeat in the two matches (1:3 and 1:2, aggregate 2:5) precisely by this factor. He stated that teams in Italian football play slowly and struggle against opponents who apply high pressing.
Capello explained it as follows: "Our teams can only show slow play against opponents who play with high intensity. Attempts to increase the speed lead to many mistakes because the technical qualities and skills required for this are lacking." Additionally, Capello criticized refereeing and the culture of game management in Italian football.
He emphasized that the development of an aggressive and high pressing style of play in Serie A is being hindered. "Because we are not accustomed to aggressive football, our teams find it difficult to play at a high pace.
As a result, it becomes harder to be competitive on the international stage," said Capello. In conclusion, Fabio Capello stresses the necessity for Italian football to gradually develop in line with modern demands.
"Inter"'s defeat to "Bodø/Glimt" once again demonstrated the need to reconsider the playing style and pace of Serie A teams.
