The Iranian Ministry of Education has included the 12-day war with Israel in new school textbooks. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Minister Alireza Kazemi, three special books have been prepared for primary, middle, and high school students. These books narrate the 12-day war in an “extraordinary and beautiful” manner.
Iran’s supreme leaders and commanders of the Islamic Revolution have described this war as a victory for the country. According to Kazemi, in addition to the 12-day war, twenty more educational collections are being developed.
These collections include Iran’s missile program and a section called “Hard Strike.” The term “Hard Strike” is related to the missile attack carried out in 2020 by Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force, targeting the US military base at Ain al-Asad in Iraq.
Following this, pages dedicated to Soleimani’s memory were added to school textbooks, along with information about fighters who died in Syria. Since 1988, materials dedicated to important events in Iran’s military history and the memory of insurgents have been regularly published in textbooks.
Recently, new information about fighters who died in Syria was also added, officially referring to them as “guardians of the shrine.” The 12-day war began on June 13, 2024.
Israel launched a large-scale operation citing Iran’s covert military-nuclear program as a pretext. According to Axios, Israel conducted secret sabotage operations within Iranian territory, damaging strategic missile facilities and defense systems.
Additionally, attacks were carried out on the Hamdan and Tabriz airbases, destroying drones and missile equipment there. Iran denied these accusations and responded with attacks on the battlefield.
During this 12-day confrontation, the US also intervened, striking Iran’s nuclear facilities on the night of June 22. In response, on June 23, Iran targeted the US Al Udeid base in Qatar.
Tehran has expressed that it does not want the conflict to escalate and opposes the war moving to the next stage. This event is creating new challenges in international politics and security.
The new phase of the long-standing conflict between Iran and Israel could lead to severe political and economic consequences for both sides. Therefore, careful attention from the international community is necessary to maintain regional stability and ensure peace.
