Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called the recognition of the State of Palestine by several countries a historic and very important decision. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Speaking at a conference dedicated to the Palestinian issue in New York, he paid special attention to the difficult situation in the region. According to Erdoğan, a serious humanitarian crisis has arisen in the region as a result of intensified aggressions by the Israeli government for almost two years.
More than 65,000 people have died in Gaza, and this massacre is still ongoing. He stated that conscientious people cannot remain indifferent to these events and that silence in the face of such policies is unacceptable.
Furthermore, the president emphasized that the recognition of Palestine by several countries that are members of the UN Security Council, under conditions that hinder the establishment of the State of Palestine, is considered a very important and historic step. This decision is expected to serve peace and stability in the region.
The unity of the international community is necessary for the Palestinian people to freely and independently establish their own state. President Erdoğan's words once again reminded the international arena of the urgency of the Palestinian issue.
