
Parliamentary elections began in the Republic of Moldova at 07:00 local time. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Central Election Commission, a total of 1961 polling stations are operating across the country. Additionally, 301 polling stations have been established abroad, with voting times determined according to their locations.
In this election, the pro-European Union "Action and Solidarity" party led by the incumbent president Maia Sandu is competing against three pro-Russian political forces. Among the pro-Russian forces are the "Patriots" bloc, the "Alternative" bloc, and the "Our Party" party.
Furthermore, two more parties were deregistered before the election. In her address, President Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of the election for the country and stated that it plays a key role in determining the future fate of the parliament.
She said that the issue of European Union membership is the most urgent matter. She also revealed that the Kremlin allocated hundreds of millions of euros to finance pro-Russian parties and buy votes.
President Sandu called for fair and honest voting for the prosperity of the country.
