As a result of a raid conducted by OMON in Moscow, more than 70 migrants were detained in dormitories. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Russian National Guard, the operation involving special OMON units named "Avangard" and "Qilich" was carried out in several dormitories in the southeastern part of the capital. During this raid, over a thousand foreign nationals were inspected, and 72 of them were detained on suspicion of violating immigration rules.
The detained individuals were taken to police departments, and further investigations are ongoing. This event was organized in cooperation with the Investigative Committee, the Federal Security Service, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At present, there is no official information regarding the presence of Uzbek citizens among those detained. Additionally, on September 22 of this year, a similar inspection was conducted at a concert hall in Krasnoyarsk region involving Uzbeks, where several Uzbek migrants faced legal measures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Migration Agency have sent lawyers to protect the rights of citizens in these cases. The Consulate General is also taking measures to provide necessary legal assistance.
At the same time, Bobur Bekmurodov, the leader of the "Yuksalish" movement and a deputy, emphasized that involving special forces in such situations is excessive and called on law enforcement agencies to act within the law. According to experts, the number of raids against migrants in Russia is increasing.
Their legal basis, effectiveness, and social impact are causing various debates among the public. Therefore, it is considered important that such events are conducted based on legality and respect for human rights principles.
