A man living in California, who has spent years sleeping on the streets, one day opened the door to fortune. He bought a lottery ticket from a local store called Sandy's Deli Liquor and won 1 million dollars. This was reported by "Pravila jizni" citing the Los Angeles Times.
The hero's name is a secret, but his luck is public
The winner's full name has not been disclosed, but he is a regular customer at Sandy's Deli Liquor. The store manager, Wilson Samaan, describes him as a sincere, trustworthy, and honest person. According to him, the man has been living on the streets of San Luis Obispo for many years.
At one point, Samaan offered him a job at the store, but a knee condition prevented the man from accepting it.
"Brother, you hit the jackpot!"
The winner found out about this huge luck last week. He entered the store as usual, scratched off the protective layer on the ticket, and was stunned to see the numbers.
“At first, he thought he won 100 thousand dollars. Then I told him, 'No, you won the entire jackpot!'” Samaan recalls.
After that, he took the winner to the California Lottery office, where the ticket was officially validated. According to statistical data, the probability of winning such a large prize is one in 2,047,423 tickets.
“This money has completely changed my life”
This event, which spread like wildfire, caught the attention of journalists. In an interview with an LA Times reporter, the man said:
“My life has completely changed. I plan to buy a small house and a car with this money. I am thinking of investing the rest for the future.”
According to representatives of the California Lottery, the process of claiming the prize may take several weeks or two to three months.
