The Iranian government has abandoned the plan to relocate the capital. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Now, the goal is to solve the water shortage problem in Tehran using modern technologies. This was reported by "Tasnim News".
According to Ali Abdulalizoda, the representative for marine resource management under the Iranian president, the project to supply water from the Persian Gulf to Tehran has been fully implemented. This project was developed by the country's specialists and is currently considered the main and reliable source of drinking water for the capital.
Officials emphasize that the government's main plan is to address water and ecological problems in Tehran through new technologies and effective resource management. Currently, the city has five large water reservoirs that supply drinking water to the population.
However, most of them have become unusable. Therefore, it has been announced that water pressure will be reduced during evening hours starting from November 9.
According to experts, although the main causes of the water shortage are drought and climate change, the primary factor of this crisis is explained by shortcomings in water resource management and the slow implementation of agricultural reforms. The strongest droughts and heatwaves observed in the past 60 years have further complicated the situation.
