New regulations for registering migrants will be introduced in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These rules will come into effect on July 1, 2025, and envisage the full implementation of migrant registration through a digital system. This innovation was approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan on November 17, 2025.
The new regulation will apply to all foreigners entitled to stay visa-free for up to 90 days, including citizens of Uzbekistan. According to the new system, foreigners must register within 30 days from the date of entry into Kazakhstan.
From now on, all processes will be carried out digitally. The migrant’s personal data, place of residence, and information about the person providing accommodation will be entered into a special migration police system (IS MP).
The person providing accommodation will receive a notification via a mobile application and can confirm or reject the registration. Once confirmed, a certificate of registration will appear in the migrant’s electronic account.
Registration will be carried out at residences, hotels, hostels, and other places of stay. If a migrant changes their place of residence, they must register at the new address within 5 working days.
The old address will be automatically deleted. Failure to register or providing incorrect information may result in fines, cancellation of registration, or deportation.
The new electronic system allows migrants to monitor their legal status, view documents electronically, and avoid legal disputes. The following recommendations are given to Uzbek citizens traveling to Kazakhstan: ensure that the receiving party has confirmed the place of residence, monitor that the registration deadline is not missed, and remember to update information when changing the address.
