In Tashkent's "Malika" electronics market, the prices of air purifiers and home humidifiers have significantly increased. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Vendors explain this situation by the rise in wholesale prices. Although customs duties have been abolished for some technical devices, a decrease in prices has not yet been observed.
On the contrary, the increase in demand is affecting the prices. According to sellers, the price of air purifiers has risen by an average of 50 US dollars.
The price increase has affected products across all categories equally. The price of home humidifiers has also risen, with compact models starting at 60-70 thousand soms.
Humidifiers designed for large rooms have become 10-25 US dollars more expensive. This situation is mainly related to price increases by suppliers and the interest of buyers.
The abolition of customs duties has not yet had a significant impact on retail prices. Sellers note that new products exempt from customs duties have not yet arrived on the market.
Therefore, no significant changes in prices are observed. According to experts, since products brought in under the old customs regulations are being sold, a price decrease will take time.
Due to the worsening air quality problem in Tashkent, demand for air purifiers and humidifiers has increased. On November 3, the capital ranked among the top three cities in the world with the most polluted air.
By mid-November, air quality further deteriorated, and this situation continues to this day. As a result, demand has increased not only for climate equipment but also for protective masks.
Respirator masks have become difficult to find in pharmacies, while ordinary medical masks are not capable of filtering fine dust. City residents are seeking various ways to reduce dust at home.
This further increases the need for air purifiers and other climate equipment.
