Russia's "Kondor-FKA" satellite has sent images confirming that the A23a iceberg, the largest iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean, has broken into pieces. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
An official statement was made by Roscosmos. According to Roscosmos, the A23a iceberg is considered one of the largest ice masses in the world.
Its current condition is clearly visible in the images taken by the satellite. This iceberg initially separated from Antarctica in 1986, at which time its total area was approximately 4,200 square kilometers.
For comparison, this area is almost twice the size of the entire city of Saint Petersburg. Currently, the iceberg has broken into several pieces.
This event is of significant importance for studying how ice masses affect global climate change.
