Alcohol sales restrictions that had been in place for 50 years in Thailand have been lifted. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this law, alcohol sales were prohibited from 14:00 to 17:00. Now, the government has eased this restriction, allowing restaurants to sell alcohol during this time period as well.
This decision was made to support the economy, and experts believe that this change could increase restaurant revenues by 20 percent. Initially, this restriction was introduced under the "Revolutionary Committee decree" to prevent government employees from consuming alcohol during working hours.
However, in recent years, considering the growth of Thailand's tourism sector and the needs of tourists, this restriction has been adjusted to fit the socio-economic situation. Due to strict restrictions, some tourists were forced to choose other countries instead of Thailand, so this decision is regarded as an important step for tourism development.
