Intense clashes have been observed again in the Spin Boldak border area between the Taliban forces of Pakistan and Afghanistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Both sides accuse each other of violating the ceasefire. As a result of the shootings that continued through the night, many residents living near the border were forced to leave their homes for safety reasons.
According to initial information from Kandahar province, four Afghan citizens have been killed, and the Pakistani side reported three people injured. Although the shootings have stopped for now, the situation in the area has not stabilized.
The local population is worried about the resumption of fighting. The Pakistani government accused the Taliban of breaking the ceasefire and opening fire, emphasizing that an appropriate response was given.
The Taliban stated that they have taken measures to ensure the security of their territory. Videos circulating on social media show people urgently leaving the area on foot or by car.
These clashes indicate that tensions have escalated again after the peace agreement reached two months ago through mediation by Qatar and Turkey. At that time, the parties had agreed to maintain the ceasefire, but achieving complete peace was not possible.
The recent events once again confirm that the situation in the border area remains extremely unstable.
