
An explosion occurred on New Year's Eve at one of the bars located in the Kran-Montana ski resort in the Valais canton of Switzerland, followed by a fire. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to local media reports, 40 people died as a result of the incident, and nearly 100 others were injured. Most of the victims suffered severe burns, and some remain in critical condition.
Hospitals in the area are operating at their capacity limits. Medical helicopters have been deployed to transport the injured as quickly as possible.
At the same time, air traffic over the resort has been temporarily restricted. At the time of the incident, a New Year's concert was taking place at the Le Constellation club.
This venue accommodates several hundred people, and the fire is believed to have been caused by pyrotechnics used during the concert. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident, but so far they have stated that they do not consider this event to be a terrorist attack.
