16 people died in the protests in Iran

At least 16 people have died and hundreds have been arrested as a result of protests that lasted a week across Iran. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Reuters, these protests began due to rising inflation and the devaluation of Iran's national currency – the rial. This situation has further intensified economic difficulties among the country's population.
Initially, the protests were started by market traders and shop owners, but later they spread widely among university students and residents of provincial cities. Clashes were observed in Tehran, Western provinces, southern Baluchistan, and the religious center of Qom.
The Iranian government responded to the protests in two ways. On one hand, dialogue was offered, while on the other hand, the police arrested protest leaders and in some cases suppressed the protests with force.
Explosive devices were used in some clashes, resulting in several deaths. The international community has also paid attention to these events.
US President Donald Trump expressed readiness to assist the protesters, which led Iranian officials to threaten countermeasures. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that he is open to dialogue but emphasized the need to punish those causing instability.
