Japan condemned China's restrictions and announced countermeasures

The Japanese government strongly criticized China's ban on the export of products that could be used for military purposes, calling it "unacceptable." This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These restrictions have emerged against the backdrop of escalating economic tensions between the two countries. The issue concerns dual-use products, that is, minerals and technologies that can be used in both civilian and military sectors, which are subject to these restrictions.
China imposed this ban in response to comments made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi regarding Taiwan. Beijing demanded that Takaichi retract her statements, but the Japanese government rejected this demand, deeming China's restrictions to be contrary to international rules.
These restrictions could negatively impact Japanese industry, especially the automobile manufacturing sector. If China expands restrictions on rare earth minerals, it could cause serious damage to the Japanese economy.
According to scientific analyses, a three-month restriction could cause a $4.2 billion loss to the Japanese economy, while a one-year restriction could lead to a 0.43% contraction in gross domestic product. The Japanese government has announced that it will take countermeasures if China intensifies the restrictions.
Meanwhile, China has begun conducting inspections against Japanese products. Experts believe that this dispute between the two countries could continue in a manner similar to the conflict over the islands in 2012.
