Protests in Iran: 65 people have died

One of the US senators, Marco Rubio, announced on his social media page his support for the protesters in Iran. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He emphasized that the United States supports the brave people of Iran. This is reported by the mass media.
Mass protests in Iran began last month at the Grand Bazaar in Tehran following the sharp devaluation of the national currency – the rial. Later, due to economic difficulties, high inflation, international sanctions, and restrictions on freedoms, protests spread throughout the country.
These demonstrations are noted as the largest social uprisings in the last three years. As the protests continue, the Iranian army has expressed its readiness to protect state property and strategic infrastructure.
At the same time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is actively participating in suppressing the unrest. According to Reuters agency, the Iranian government blames Israel and other forces for the emerging situation.
According to Iranian human rights defenders, as of January 9, 65 people have died during the protests, including 50 protesters and 15 law enforcement officers. It has also been reported that nearly 2,500 people have been detained.
Some protesters chanted slogans supporting the former Pahlavi dynasty, while the main demands were related to ending clerical rule, restoring the economy damaged by international sanctions, and taking concrete measures.
