Iran and the US: Tensions are rising amid talks

The Iranian government announced that communication with the United States is ongoing. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump has indicated that he may take harsh measures in response to the use of force against protesters by the Iranian government. These protests are considered the largest dissent against the clerical regime since the 1979 revolution.
It was reported that talks are continuing between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and the US special envoy. Araqchi emphasized that Iran is ready for war but is also open to peaceful negotiations.
However, it was also noted that contradictory messages coming from the US are not serious. The protests have been ongoing since December 28.
According to human rights organizations, so far 490 protesters and 48 security personnel have died. Additionally, more than 10,600 people have been detained.
Initially sparked by economic difficulties, the protests later turned into a movement against the clerical leadership. As a response, the US is discussing diplomatic negotiations, strengthening sanctions, and even the possibility of military measures.
However, the Iranian government stated that the situation is under control. Supporters of the government have organized rallies across the country.
