Switzerland may host the 2038 Olympics

On New Year's Eve, a tragic fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland resulted in the deaths of 40 people. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Following this event, the resort has once again come into the spotlight, this time with sports news. According to local media reports, Crans-Montana is being considered as one of the potential host locations for the 2038 Winter Olympic Games.
As part of the "Switzerland 2038" initiative, a list of possible venues for hosting the Olympic Games has been announced. The list includes French-speaking regions such as Lausanne, Geneva, and Crans-Montana.
Additionally, other locations like Engelberg, Zurich, Zug, Lugano, Lenzerheide, and St. Moritz have also been nominated. The project is uniquely based not on a "single city" model but rather on a dispersed format across the entire country.
The idea is to hold competitions using existing infrastructure and minimize new construction as much as possible. The "Switzerland 2038" association is leading this initiative.
According to Swissinfo, Lausanne is being considered for the opening ceremony, while Bern is a candidate for the closing ceremony. This initiative has been developed in accordance with Switzerland's principles of sustainable development.
