Zelenskiy: I am pessimistic about negotiations with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced that before the start of negotiations with Russia in Geneva, the US President's special envoy Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner informed him about Moscow's readiness to stop the fighting. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He spoke about this in an interview with the publication “Axios.” According to Zelenskiy, based on this information, US representatives proposed coordinating the work of the Ukrainian delegation in a trilateral meeting.
However, the President emphasized that he is pessimistic about this and asked not to try to convince him otherwise. Additionally, Zelenskiy commented on Donald Trump's statement that Ukraine should make certain concessions, saying that he perceives it not as a decision but as a strategic approach for negotiations.
According to the President, an agreement involving unilateral withdrawal of troops from Donbass or handing over territories to Russia would not be accepted by Ukrainians. He stressed that the people would not forgive such a decision.
At the same time, he noted that an agreement based on the current front line could be supported in a referendum. Zelenskiy sees holding a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as the most effective way to resolve territorial issues.
He has instructed his team to organize a leaders-level meeting in Geneva. At the same time, the President rejected proposals to hold the meeting in Moscow or Minsk.
