Iran refuses to open Strait of Hormuz due to US pressure

Tehran has officially announced that it has reversed its previous decision regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The news was confirmed by the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and announced to the general public via the Fars News Agency. It is said that the primary reason for this decision was the pressure and blockade measures applied by the United States against Iranian ports.
The restrictions imposed by the United States are negatively impacting the country's economic interests and port operations. The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, had previously issued a warning on this matter in a statement on social media.
He emphasized that if the policy of encirclement and restrictions around the ports did not cease, it was inevitable that the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz would be reconsidered. It is worth noting that the Tasnim agency recently reported that Iran was prepared to open this strategically important waterway under certain conditions.
However, as a result of the changing situation and increasing external pressures, Tehran was forced to change its position. The decision made today indicates that political tensions in the region have further escalated.
The complicating situation around the strategic waterway is creating a concerning state not only for Iran but for the entire Middle East region. This situation could also have a serious impact on the transport and logistics system in the region.
