893 head of wild asses were released into the wild in the Ustyurt plateau

An important measure to protect nature was implemented in the Ustyurt Plateau, one of the vast territories of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as reported by Zamin.uz.
A total of 893 great bustards were released into their natural habitat in this area. It is noteworthy that these unique birds are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan and currently belong to rare species facing the threat of extinction.
These efforts represent another practical step in preserving biological diversity and restoring ecological balance in our country. According to specialists in the field, ongoing work is being carried out to conserve the great bustard and steadily increase its population in the natural environment.
According to the established plans, it is intended to return to nature annually from two to three thousand birds on average. Such initiatives are significant not only at the local level but also on an international scale.
This is because the great bustard, which is under threat of extinction, has been included in the special appendix of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Such practical work contributes not only to increasing the number of birds but also to improving their natural living conditions.
Experts have organized continuous monitoring to ensure the birds' adaptation to their new environment and their safety. This focused attention on protecting the great bustard serves as an important foundation for fully preserving natural wealth for future generations.
Therefore, protecting nature and safeguarding the rare animal world should be a concern for every citizen.
